Why travel to Vietnam?

Although there are large differences in way of life and culture compared to many other countries, Vietnam tourism is still attractive to international tourists for its natural beauty, cultural uniqueness, people and interesting tradition stories.

1. A safe place

When drawing a plan for your holiday, the first thing that you should and usually think of is safety. Therefore, one great point about Vietnam in the eyes of international friends is the feeling of staying safe while travelling, even if they travel alone.

Business Insider rated Vietnam as the safest and most friendly countries in Southeast Asia in the list of 30 ideal tourist destinations. Ho Chi Minh city was also ranked 48^th in the list of 50 safest cities for people to travel in 2015 by The Economist.

This is not the first time that Vietnam has been praised by foreign websites or press. Last year, Vietnam was ranked 45^th in terms of safety and second in terms of happiness by Business Insider. DeMorgen (Belgium) also recommended this S-shaped land to female tourists.

2. Country possessing numerous tourist attractions

Along the s-shaped strip of land from north to south, you can see a lot of beautiful landscapes, which helps Vietnam to be in the compilation of the most appealing places in the world for so many times.  

They are Hanoi – capital of peace, Ha Long – one of the world heritages, the world’s largest cave Son Doong, or the majestic rice terraces in the Northwest mountainous area, or the most stunning beaches and numerous scenic sites and historical relics.

3. Long history

Vietnam has such a long-standing history and culture – 4,000 years. The history and culture of Vietnam is shown quite clearly through folk literature such as legends, traditional folk festivals in different regions, food and architecture. French architecture still reveals its trace in old constructions. Temples, pagodas, and historical relics are also interesting places for tourists to visit.

4. Food

Vietnamese food is really enjoyed and appreciated by foreign visitors. In the world’s book of food, Vietnam also contributes some delicious dishes such as pho, banhmi, buncha, nemran that almost everyone knows when coming to Vietnam.

Besides, street food with street food stalls selling various tasty dishes is something that tourists are always excited to discover together with the daily life of the people in this country. Not as spicy and hot as Thai food, not as sophisticated as European food, also not as greasy as Chinese food; Vietnamese food is frugal. Tourists may have pho in all their meals of the day without feeling bored with it. Apart from phobo, which is a kind of noodles served with beef, there are many other dishes using noodles as the main ingredient like pho ga (noodles served with chicken meat), pho xao (stir fried noodles), pho cuon (rolled pho), and so on.  

5. Coffee

Coffee does not originate from Vietnam but it is one of the popular factors that make Vietnam be known more widely in the world. You would soon regret when coming to Vietnam without trying “egg coffee”, which is a famous delicious drink of Vietnam. Vietnamese coffeeholics often drink filter coffee mixed with dense milk or egg coffee; they do not prefer weak instant coffee – a kind of drink produced industrially.

Egg coffee is praised by many international newspapers for its uniqueness, rich nutrition and delicious taste.

6. Fresh food

One of the special things about Vietnam that attracts curious visitors are the stalls selling variety of fresh food in markets, not frozen food sold in supermarkets.

Strolling through Vietnamese markets, foreign visitors can see fish swimming about  in tubs, shrimps jumping, fresh meat, diverse kinds of vegetables and fruits.

7. Kind and friendly people

Most foreign visitors can feel the thoughtfullness and friendliness of Vietnamese people when coming here. Vietnamese people are always willing to tell you the shortest way to tourist sites, or help you to catch a bus or a taxi inspite of language barrier. Visitors will definitely love those kind, friendly, hard-working and generous people.

8. Low costs

In Vietnam, it does not cost much to go travelling as in Tokyo, Japan; you still can explore a whole bunch of interesting things though. Many international newspapers has placed Vietnam in the list of the cheapest and most comfortable tourist destinations.

Even, Happy Lifestyle Journal gave an example: with a sum of money which is enough to stay in an average 3-star hotel in New York, it is enough to pay for high-class service in 5-star hotels or luxurious resorts in Vietnam.

Even in the most expensive cities in Vietnam as Hanoi, HCMC, there are affordable motels, homestay services for visitors if they want to take a backpacking trip across Vietnam.
