7 Things to remember when visiting Ganh Da Dia

Together with Ireland, Spain and Scotland, Ganh Da Dia (The Cliff of Stone Plates) of Phu Yen (Vietnam) is considered as one of the most amazing natural phenomena. Looking farther, you can see Bai Bang, where huge stones lying peacefully under terminalia catappas foliage. This is an ideal place for people to go camping, take a rest and enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the sea village of central Vietnam.

The lighthouse Ganh Den is not far way from Bai Bang. Although it is not as bright and its architecture is not as outstanding as the lighthouse Dai Lanh, this place is ideal for sightseeing. From this, tourists can have a whole view of the coastal land and feel relaxed with gentle breezes.

On the way back the city along national route 1A, tourists may stop by the most ancient church in Vietnam – Mang Lang church, built 120 years ago. It is one of the most notable Catholic buildings with  Gothic architecture and a large campus of 5000 square meters.

 Tourists should bring some food or snacks when visiting Ganh Da Dia because there are only a few dining and resting services here. Or you may want to go to Bai Bang to enjoy fresh seafood with reasonable prices such as: O Loan oysters, tuna, Cu Mong swamp’s crabs, jellyfish salad.

Some specialities of Phu Yen can all be found in Tuy Hoa city: Hoa Da rice paper, cha dong (meat of “dông”-kind of sea animal, being grilled and chopped and wrapped, then being deep dried), Tuy Hoa tune’s eyes hotpot (Lẩu "đèn pha").

 

6. Souvenirs to bring home

At Ganh Da Dia, there are numerous and various souvenirs to bring home for your friends and family: products made from coral and seashells such as eye-catching keychains and wind chimes, or ingenious mosaics showing the beauty of Phu Yen.

Not only Ganh Da Dia, whereever you travel, you need to bring along all necessary personal stuff, especially sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat and medications. Remember to put on a life-jacket when swimming at the beach or joining water activities.

Avoid travelling in storm and rainny season from August to November (lunar calendar) because the roads are slippery, making it difficult for vehicles to move safely.
